WILLIAM CRIGHTON ANNOUNCES EAST COAST TOUR & 7-INCH VINYL RELEASE
(Sydney, Australia, January 18, 2012)
The Wiggles today announced that Greg Page, the original Yellow Wiggle, is reuniting with the world-famous children’s entertainment group. Sam Moran, who has been the Yellow Wiggle for the past five years, graciously offered to step aside on hearing of Greg’s ability to return to the group.
Greg resumes his place alongside longtime friends Anthony Field, Murray Cook
and Jeff Fatt. He starts straight away on new Wiggles productions including CD,
DVD and television content, plus local and international tours, kicking off with
Australia in March and later this year the UK and USA.
Greg, a founding member of The Wiggles in 1991, was forced to resign from his
much-loved work five years ago due to illness. Sam stepped in immediately to
take over as the Yellow Wiggle.
“We thank Sam for his wonderful contribution to the group for the past five years.
He joined at a difficult time for Greg and the group, and we’re so grateful for all
he has done,” said Wiggles Manager Paul Field.
“Sam is a gifted singer and we’re pleased that Wiggles Productions will continue to
support him by making Hot Potato Studios available to him for future projects,”
"I am very proud of my five years as the Yellow Wiggle and the group's continued
success with me as their lead singer,” said Sam Moran.
“I have enjoyed every minute of my nine years touring with the group, but I now
look forward to new opportunities and more time spent with my wife and twoyear-
old daughter,” he added.
According to Greg, this is an extraordinary moment in his personal history with
“This takes me full circle. I’m excited to be back with my friends and to be
entertaining our incredible fans again. I didn’t get a chance to say farewell last
time, so this is an opportunity I couldn’t refuse. I’m feeling great and looking
forward to doing what I love.”
“Greg is an integral part of Wiggles history and will now play a role in its future.
Despite his absence for the past five years, fans worldwide remember him fondly.
It’s terrific to be able to bring him back into the group,” said Paul Field.
